Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island

  • Charlevoix and Mackinac Island, MI

  • August 17-20, 4 days, 6 meals

This is your chance to experience the glorious, 660-foot long porch, with rocking chairs, the exquisite dining and ambiance of the Grand Hotel.

Day 1

You'll spend the first night in Charlevoix, MI, home to Castle Farms. Built in 1918, this beautiful French Renaissance castle offers a guided walking tour of the soaring towers, stone buildings and sweeping gardens inspired by European design. You'll be enthralled with the castle's outdoor Model Railroad, with more than 70 G-scale trains operating on 2,500 feet of track. It is the largest in the state of Michigan.

Day 2

SHEPLER'S FERRY: Start the morning off with a relaxing ferry ride to Mackinac Island and start your escape with a horse drawn carriage tour of the island, which includes Fort Mackinac.
THE GRAND HOTEL: Since 1887, The Grand Hotel has beckoned guests to a bygone era of Old-World hospitality and charm and now you are a part of it! Experience the tradition of dressing up for dinner, dancing to the sounds of the Grand Hotel Orchestra and lounging on that magnificent porch, enjoying spectacular views.

Day 3

MACKINAC ISLAND FUDGE FESTIVAL: Mackinac Island's creamy, decadent fudge is famous worldwide, and bringing a bit back from your trip to share is a long-standing tradition. This year, you'll be part of one of the Island's finest - and most delicious - traditions! The Mackinac Island Fudge Festival offers tourists a terrific reason to celebrate fudge - made fresh each day at Mackinac's multitude of fudge shops. Or try a fudge-infused cocktail, fudge on the rocks or fudge-making demonstrations.
The day is yours to enjoy as you wish, whether it be joining in all the activities or just relaxing in the warm summer air! Embrace your last formal dinner this evening, followed by more dancing if you wish. You just may feel like the king or queen of the ball!
