Leave the Hustle and Bustle Behind!

  • Shipshewana, IN

  • Sept. 17-19, 3 Days, 4 Meals

See how today's Amish really live and work in this special part of northern Indiana.

AMISH EXPERIENCE: This afternoon, meet Jerry Stutuzman, our favorite local step-on guide. He's ex-Amish with strong ties to the community and will help you understand what it's really like to work, workship and live Amish. You'll tour a a quilt shop, buggy maker and more. Your evening ends with an authentic Amish dinner, graciously prepared by women of the community.

SHOPPING: Walk across the street from your hotel and enter the Shipshewana Flea Market & Auction. Stroll at your leisure through hundreds of arts and crafts booths, five restaurants, a live auction, livestock barn and exhibit/entertainment area. Enjoy at your own pace and for your own pleasure.

EXPLORING: There's even more to do downtown! The coach will make a shuttle run at least once today, so you can check out the quilt shops and charming restaurants. You'll also be able to tour the Menno-Hof Amish/Mennonite Information Center to dive deeper into the world onthe Anabaptists in a rich, museum-like setting. Enjoy!

BLUE GATE THEATER DINNER SHOW: The day ends with a homestyle, bountiful meal along with an Amish-themeed dinner show.

B, D

This is the second day of the flea market and you'll have time to go back for those special treasures, see the musuem if you didn't get there the first day or head back downtown. We'll depart mid-day making a stop along the way for home-baked treats.

Enjoy your short ride home, remembering that the best things in life are often the simplest: Love and laughter, family and friends ... and, perhaps, Amish bakery items!
