Day 1

SPAM MUSEUM: Discover the history of the Hormel company and the origins of the popular spiced meat at the SPAM Museum in Austin, MN. The 14,000-square foot museum features 9 SPAMtastic galleries with interactive games and photo opportunities.

Day 2

MITCHELL CORN PALACE: Some 500,000 tourists come from around the nation each year to see the uniquely designed corn murals.

WALL DRUG: Nestled in the city of Wall in the western part of the state, Wall Drug has grown from its humble beginnings in 1931 to a thriving oasis. It is one of the most popular attractions in the state, drawing in more than 2 million visitors each year for dining, activitites, and souvenirs.

Day 3

CUSTER STATE PARK: Giddy up - Jeep tour style! Ride the Buffalo Safari for a scenic tour of the backcountry, along with historical and educational information about the park and the wildlife at Custer.

CRAZY HORSE MEMORIAL: Located in the heart of the Black Hills, this majestic memorial represents a living heritage of the North American Indians. Billed as the world's largest sculptural carving, it memorializes Lakota leader, Crazy Horse, and provides educational and cultural programming to encourage harmony and reconciliation among all people and nations.

FORT HAYS CHUCKWAGON SUPPER & MUSIC VARIETY SHOW: Step back in time at the Fort Hays Old West Town Square while strolling along the boardwalk. Take a free, self-guided tour of the Dances With Wolves film set. Then enjoy an original hearty chuckwagon supper, followed by a great Branson-style live music variety show when the Fort Hays Wranglers take the stage.

Day 4

MOUNT RUSHMORE NATIONAL MEMORIAL: Marvel at the majestic figures of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln, surrounded by the beauty of the Black Hills. This legendary monument tells the story of the birth, growth, development, and preservation of this country.

1880 TRAIN: Enjoy a narrated ride through the Black Hills of South Dakota onboard an authentic steam train. View vistas of Harney Peak and mining encampments as the train follows the original route of the Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy Railroad laid down in the late 1880s to service the mines and mills between Hill City and Keystone.

TRIAL OF JACK MCCALL: In 1876, Wild Bill Hickok was playing poker in Nuttal and Mann's Saloon No. 10 when he was shot in the back of the head while holding Aces and Eights, forever known as the "Dead Man's Hand." You'll find yourself right in the middle of the trial of Hickok's murderer, Jack McCall.


Day 5

DEVIL'S TOWER NATIONAL MONUMENT: Boasting one of the Earth's most impressive geological features, Devil's Tower protrudes out of the prairie surrounding the Black Hills, with annual visitation of over 400,000. It is considered sacred by Northern Plains Indians and indigenous people.

SPEARFISH CANYON: Drive the 19-mile Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway and with stops along the way, including Bridal Veil Falls, Spearfish Falls, and Roughlock Falls. This canyon is one of the gateways into the heart of an ancient mountain range.

Day 6

BADLANDS NATIONAL PARK: The rugged beauty of the Badlands draws visitors from around the world, with its sharply eroded buttes, pinnacles, and spires, blended with the largest undisturbed mixed grass prairie in the United States. This might be the highlight of your trip!

Journey back through Minnesota and Wisconsin with visions of your legendary tour of America's west holding a special place in your mind and heart.

TOUR INCLUSIONS: Professional tour director, motorcoach transportation, accommodations, luggage handling, admissions, and 12 meals, including 6 breakfasts, 3 lunches, and 3 dinners.


TRAVEL INSURANCE: Optional, but highly recommended.


ACTIVITY LEVEL 3 / HEAVY WALKING: Physical stamina required. Stair climbing, longer periods of walking and/or standing may be involved, along with higher elevations and longer days. Participants must be able to keep up with group.
