Perhaps the most famous East Coast tourist destination in the country, Cape Cod offers Atlantic maritime history, resort sensibilities and natural shoreline beauty. This year, it also offers a celebration! It's the 400th anniversary of the Pilgrims landing in 1620 on the Mayflower and you're invited.

DAY 1

HYANNIS HIGHLIGHTS TOUR: Dive into the hub of Cape Cod, with a tour that covers the Kennedy Memorial, St. Xavier's Church, Hyannis Waterfront District, and the Hyannis Port neighborhood of the Kennedy Compound.

DAY 2

OUTER CAPE AND PROVINCETOWN TOUR: Lighthouses, anyone? Travel Olde King's Highway, where you'll see historic Cape Cod architecture and beautiful New England Inns near their stalwart watchtowers.

WHALE WATCH EXCURSION: See several different whale varieties up close and personal, as you enjoyed a narrated cruise from the beautiful Provincetown Harbor.

DAY 3

MARTHA'S VINEYARD CRUISE AND TOUR: Depart from the scenic Woods Hole Harbor and learn all about Martha's Vineyard. Our tour includes the famous Gingerbread Houses, Island Tabernacle and Antique Carousel of Oak Bluffs, and stories and views of well-known homes. Also, enjoy time to explore Edgartown with extraordinary views of the Atlantic.

DAY 4

PLYMOUTH, MA: Since 2020 is the 400th anniversary of the Pilgrims' landing, you'll spend today learning all about the voyage and the region. First up, a city tour of "America's Hometown," Plymouth.

MAYFLOWER II: Visit the accurate reproduction of the ship that brought the Pilgrims to the New World.

PLIMOTH PLANTATION: Walk among the costumed Pilgrims and Native Americans as they perform their daily tasks of harvesting, cooking, gardening and tending to farm animals. Learn of their religion and culture and what motivated them to unite and seek a new home.

PLIMOTH PLANTATION 17TH CENTURY MEAL: Enjoy a remarkable dining experience, as you taste favorites from both the English and the Native Americans. A food historian will complement the meal with interesting facts on ingredients, cooking, and even table manners.

DAY 5

NANTUCKET CRUISE: Cruise to the Atlantic Isle of Nantucket aboard the traditional ferry, with a return cruise aboard a high-speed catamaran. Enjoy a tour of the picturesque island, known for its famous sea captains and steeped in Whaling History. Did you know it's the setting for Moby Dick? Take in the galleries, quaint cobblestone streets, historic lighthouses and breathtaking beaches.

NEW ENGLAND LOBSTER DINNER: Your tour to Cape Cod would certainly not be complete, without a traditional lobster dinner … WITH a lobsterman! Learn all about the secrets of the lobstering industry, while you enjoy a fresh seafood dinner.

Pack your memories of this quaint area, as we head back to our home cities.

ACCOMMODATIONS: Red Jacket Beach Resort Hotel, South Yarmouth, MA

 

TOUR INCLUSIONS: Professional tour director, roundtrip motorcoach transportation/airport/hotel/airport, roundtrip air, accommodations, luggage handling at hotel, admissions, and 10 meals, including 5 breakfasts and 5 dinners.

 

TRAVEL INSURANCE: Optional, but highly recommended.

 

ACTIVITY LEVEL 3 / HEAVY WALKING: Physical stamina required. Stair climbing, longer periods of walking and/or standing may be involved, along with higher elevations and longer days. Participants must be able to keep up with group.
