Day 1

Take a trip back to 1848 on the I&M Canal Boat! Cruise on a full size replica canal boat this is pulled by mules and listen to guides that will transport you to life on the Illinois prairie. Next, visit the Illinois Waterway Visitor Center and see how the Starved Rock locks accommodate the barges of today.

ACTIVITY LEVEL 3 / HEAVY WALKING: Physical stamina required. Stair climbing, longer periods of walking and/or standing may be involved, along with higher elevations and longer days. Participants must be able to keep up with group.
