Jet away to the Land of Enchantment … New Mexico! Step inside Native American and Colonial Spanish history and a completely different world, full of vibrant local culture, flavors, and fun in three of these mesmerizing southwest cities: Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and Taos!

DAY 1

Upon landing, notice the adobe, the art and the architecture for which this city is so famous. Marvel at the backdrop of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Then, settle into The Drury Inn, your home near the Santa Fe Plaza, close to a variety of restaurants and shops. Don't forget to enjoy the "Kickback" in the evenings, indulging in happy hour snacks and drinks.

DAY 2

MUSEUM HILL: Explore four world-class museums in Santa Fe today, steeped in Native American tradition. Learn about the history, art, and culture of the Native American Southwest, the Spanish Colonial past, and folk traditions from around the world.

PUEBLO STORYTELLER: This evening, enjoy listening to the tales of a Pueblo storyteller. Hear the stories of the area and learn a bit of the region's fascinating history.

DAY 3

LOS ALAMOS: Tour the Los Alamos' Historical District, and learn about the work that led to the world's first atomic bomb with the "Manhattan Project" during WWII.

BANDELIER NATIONAL PARK: Some 33,000 acres of volcanic cliffs, ancient dwellings bore into the rock, and petroglyphs will amaze you as they testify to evidence of a human presence going back 11,000 years.

DAY 4

TAOS: Spend the day taking in the breathtaking, rugged scenery … as we travel to the town of Taos. Located in the Sangre de Cristo Mountain range, don't forget your camera as we travel down picturesque routes.

TAOS PUEBLO: With a guide, enjoy taking time to learn about the Native American community that lives here.

CHIMAYO: This charming old Spanish village is a must-see for visitors in the area! Tour the area and then enjoy a delicious authentic lunch on-site.

DAY 5

SANTA FE PLAZA: Enjoy the day on your own to explore the many historic local buildings that are filled with unique handmade treasures. Pick up a beautiful piece of turquoise jewelry or maybe a pair of authentic cowboy boots. Take in some of the beautiful art galleries or the incredible museums in the area. Join the Van Galder tour director for an optional visit to the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum, less than a mile from the hotel!

SANTA FE SCHOOL OF COOKING: This evening, enjoy a cooking demonstration by fantastic chefs, who will show us the fun of cooking with local flavors and ingredients. Enjoy dinner as a group once more today, reminiscing of the great times you've had together so far.

Travel home, with memories of a flavorful and historic southwestern adventure.

ACTIVITY LEVEL 3 / HEAVY WALKING: Physical stamina required. Stair climbing, longer periods of walking and/or standing may be involved, along with higher elevations and longer days. Participants must be able to keep up with group.
