American Revolutionary history comes to life on this exciting trip to birthplace of the Declaration of Independence.


Hop aboard the motorcoach and head toward the heart of democracy in the United States, Philadelphia, as we cruise through Illinois, Indiana and Ohio.


MEET THE FOUNDING FATHERS: Arrive in the City of Brotherly Love, where you will first stop at the historic City Tavern. There, you'll interact with the Colonial townspeople and encounter John Dunlap, an 18th Century printer, who is searching for Thomas Jefferson. After dinner, Dunlap will take the group to Independence Hall where you will find Jefferson, Sam Adams and Benjamin Franklin debating the final wording for the Declaration of Independence.

CITY TOUR: Embark on a 4-hour historic tour of Philadelphia with a local step-on guide. Keep your eyes open for great attractions and restaurants en route, as you'll have the entire afternoon and evening on your own to explore more!

HISTORIC PHILADELPHIA: Spend the rest of the day exploring the Liberty Bell, Museum of the American Revolution, Ben Franklin Museum, Betsy Ross house, and many other important historical sites.



This morning, you'll board the motorcoach to head to our next destination: Fredericksburg, VA!

GEORGE WASHINGTON'S MOUNT VERNON: Learn all about the first President of the United States and what made him great. Enjoy a guided tour of the Mansion and then take time to explore the rest of the Estate on your own.

FREDERICKSBURG TROLLEY TOUR: Hop aboard the Fredericksburg trolley and learn all about the place George Washington's family lived, where Thomas Jefferson drafted the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom that eventually became the First Amendment and where the Battle of Fredericksburg was fought during the Civil War.

HISTORIC DOWNTOWN: Spend a few hours on your own on Main Street in Fredericksburg. With a wide variety of shops and restaurants, you're sure to find something great!
A SMITH BOWMAN DISTILLERY: Visit Virginia's oldest distillery and the place that has been awarded the "World's Best Bourbon" several years in a row. Tour, taste, and stop by the gift shop.

ALPINE CHEF: Enjoy dinner tonight served at an authentic German restaurant, housed in one of Fredericksburg's oldest train stations. History and delicious food all together!

HISTORIC BATTLEFIELDS: Civil War history buffs already know that four of the most devastating battles of that conflict occurred in the Fredericksburg area. Today, go back in time with a local step-on guide who shares stories of the soldiers and ramifications of the battles.

MUSEUM OF BERKELEY'S SPRINGS: History is full of interesting tidbits! Visit this local museum located inside a 19th-century Roman Bath House.

GEORGE WASHINGTON'S BATHTUB: Washington was known to visit this area and the springs several times in his life. Take time to view this outdoor monument, located at the Berkeley Springs State Park.



SHIPSHEWANA, IN: A Van Galder favorite! Enjoy a bit of time on your own to explore the quaint downtown of this Amish community. Pick up unique souvenirs and local delicacies.
