Costa Rica is known as much for its jaw-dropping landscapes of coastline and lush tropical forests as it is for its diverse wildlife, extraordinary chocolate and premium coffee. But it's the feeling of "pura vida," or pure life, so strongly held by Costa Ricans that will enchant you on this warm-weather getaway.


Day 1

Jet away to tropical Costa Rica! The exotic wildlife, stunning coastlines, and lush forests are waiting for you. We'll start our adventure in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Day 2

LOCAL COFFEE PLANTATION TOUR: See where your morning "cup of Joe" originates. You'll learn just how much the cultivation process drives much of the Costa Rican economy.

GUANACASTE: Known for its sandy beaches and beautiful weather, Guanacaste is where you'll settle into for the next few nights. Grab your camera and capture the breathtaking ocean views!

Day 3

BEACH DAY AT THE ESPLENDOR TAMARINDO HOTEL: Today is your day in paradise! Do what you like -- take in the views, relax by the pool, or explore the town.


Day 4

MONTEVERDE CLOUD FOREST: Enjoy a nature walk through this secluded and incredible ecosystem, where you'll encounter many incredible species of flora and fauna along the way.

Day 5

MONTEVERDE OPTIONS: The best part of today is that you get to choose what you'd like to do. First, everyone will enjoy a visit to a butterfly and hummingbird gardens. After that, you get to choose what you'd like to do for the rest of the day! Select an option below. Or, for an extra fee, experience both!

OPTION 1 - HANGING BRIDGES: Embark on a leisurely paced walking tour high above the forest floor. Take in the amazing vistas, wildlife, and natural wonders!

OPTION 2 - ZIP LINING: Take an exhilarating ride along one of Costa Rica's longest canopy tours. You'll "fly" among the treetops.

Day 6

TREE NURSERY: Learn about the importance of conservation in Costa Rica and the continuous reforestation efforts in the area.

LAKE ARENAL CRUISE: Enjoy a delightful cruise along the water and take in the spectacular views of the famous and majestic Arenal Volcano.

Day 7

CANO NEGRO RIVERBOAT: Hop on a covered canoe, known locally as a "panga," and enjoy a guided riverboat trip. Along the way, you'll see over 20,000 acres filled with Costa Rican wildlife, including sloths, river turtles, exotic birds, and so much more!


Day 8

ZARCERO: This charming town is famous for its fanciful and unique topiary gardens. You'll see all sorts of interesting creatures sculpted to perfection.

PANORAMIC TOUR: Continuing on, visit San Jose and enjoy a panoramic tour of the city with stops at the Plaza de Cultura and the National Theatre.

End the evening with one more wonderful group dinner. Share your favorite Costa Rican memoria and take in the paradise for a little longer.

Travel home, filled with a new sense of adventure and everlasting memories of this lush and verdant part of the world.

DEPOSIT: $500 per person deposit at time of reservation; final payment is due November 16, 2018. Once final payments have been received, stringent cancellation penalties apply.

TOUR INCLUSIONS: Collette tour director, roundtrip motorcoach/airport/resort transfers, roundtrip air, accommodations, luggage handling at hotels, admissions/attractions, and 13 meals including 8 breakfasts and 5 dinners.


TRAVEL INSURANCE: Highly recommended; available at booking for $315/per person


ACTIVITY LEVEL 3 / HEAVY WALKING: Physical stamina required. Stair climbing, longer periods of walking and/or standing may be involved, along with higher elevations and longer days. Participants must be able to keep up with group.


PASSPORT REQUIRED: Valid for 6 months after departure from Costa Rica is required
