This is your chance to experience the glorious 660-foot long porch with rocking chairs, exquisite dining, and ambiance of the Grand Hotel.

Day 1

Travel up the western shores of Lake Michigan before arriving at Tahquamenon Falls for dinner at the Tahquamenon Falls Brewery.

Day 2

SHEPLER'S FERRY: Start the morning off with a relaxing ferry ride to Mackinac Island. Your escape begins with a horse-drawn carriage tour of the island, with a stop at Fort Mackinac.

THE GRAND HOTEL: Since 1887, The Grand Hotel has beckoned guests to experience her grandeur. Experience the gentile traditions of dressing up for dinner, dancing to the sounds of the Grand Hotel Orchestra, and lounging on that magnificent porch while enjoying spectacular views.

After a leisurely and decadent breakfast, you'll have the day to explore the island...on foot, horseback, or bicycle...certainly a step back in time!

Enjoy one more delicious breakfast before returning to the mainland. Memories of your "grand" experience are sure to keep you smiling the whole way home.

ACCOMMODATIONS: Magnuson Grand Hotel Lakefront, Paradise, MI (1 night); Grand Hotel, Mackinac Island, MI (2 nights)

 

TOUR INCLUSIONS: Professional tour director, motorcoach transportation, accommodations, admissions, luggage handling, 6 meals, including 3 breakfasts and 3 dinners.

 

TRAVEL INSURANCE: Optional, but highly recommended.

 

ACTIVITY LEVEL 3 / HEAVY WALKING: Physical stamina required. Stair climbing, longer periods of walking and/or standing may be involved, along with higher elevations and longer days. Participants must be able to keep up with group.

 

GRAND HOTEL DRESS CODE: "Since Grand Hotel is a resort, we want you to feel at ease and dress comfortably. During the day, casual resort clothing is appropriate. Prior to 6:30 PM, please no midriff-baring tops, sweatpants, or cut-off shorts for ladies. For gentlemen, no sleeveless shirts, sweatpants, or cut-off shorts. Because every evening at Grand Hotel is a special occasion, after 6:30 PM in main areas of the hotel and after 6:00 PM in the Main Dining Room, dresses, skirts, blouses, dress sweaters, and dress slacks for ladies are preferred, while gentlemen are required to wear a suit coat, necktie, and dress pants (no denim or shorts). This applies for all areas inside the hotel including the Parlor, Lobby, Terrace, and Main Dining Room, with the exception of the Cupola Bar."
